I chose to study with Signworld as I was attracted to a Deaf-led Interpreting and Translation course. I’m so glad I made this decision. The Signworld teachers have a strong focus on Deaf culture at the core of all their teaching.

Over 15 months, as well as a grasp of the relevant interpreting tools, theory and knowledge that are fundamental to a career as a BSL/English Interpreter, I have developed a much deeper social and linguistic understanding of BSL. Being taught throughout the course in BSL, and learning alongside a mixed group of Deaf and hearing peers, has been an invaluable experience in improving my BSL language skills.

Studying and practicing in a combined group, has taught me how to co-work with Translators, Intra-Lingual Interpreters and BSL/English Interpreters – an integral skill for working in the Deaf community.

For those thinking of studying with Signworld, I cannot recommend this course enough!

I find it so amazing and worth learning with Signworld. They provided rich information and ensured we understood and passed well. It was a challenge for all of us but we passed! This is the right centre for the course compared to other centres. 

Also, an additional benefit is that the teacher is Deaf. It gave us more enthusiasm and a great role model.
